Yesterday, Microsoft previewed its new tablet, call the Surface. It won’t ship until the fall, but one thing is clear: Microsoft is trying to adopt a standard practice of Apple. Apple designs both hardware and software together to deliver the best user experience possible. Microsoft, historically, has designed primarily software and has never built a computer itself. Now Microsoft seems to feel it is compelled to do so. It remains to be seen how well they can meld both hardware and software into a single product.
Also, it remains to be seen how Microsoft’s hardware partners will react, especially if the Surface has any decent success.
As the age of innovation at apple past, is history repeating itself?
I can’t believe that Microsoft beat apple to punch on the foldable keyboard, kickstand and stylus features. It’s like apple is just resting on its laurels now.
