If you haven’t seen it, you should take a look at this television exchange between Vidal and William Buckley during ABC TV’s coverage of the Chicago riots during the Democratic convention in 1968.
This country could well use another Gore Vidal.
I like this quote from when he was asked what he thought about William F. Buckley’s death “I thought hell is bound to be a livelier place, as he joins forever those whom he served in life, applauding their prejudices and fanning their hatred.”
