Microsoft’s Chief Research and Strategy Officer, Craig Mundie, has recently claimed that Microsoft has had technology similar to Apple’s Siri for more than a year. He is referring to Tellme. Tellme is a voice recognition system, but is really only useful for issuing more or less standard computer commands via voice, and has none of Siri’s ability to parse human voice commands for clues to the intended meaning.
